Greetings from Hornopiren, a sleepy village and jump off point to Parque National Pumalin. After one day in Santiago and another in Renaca near Viña del Mar at the beach I took the overnight bus to Puerto Montt. A hard night, no cama bus (the one where you can transform your seat nerarly to a bed) and not used to this any more. In Puerto Montt, after a 'lomito' por comida I took the next bus which dropped me at Lenca from where you can walk to Parque National Alerce Andino. A nice walk there, yet I did not see Alerces except one rather crippled small species. The Alereces (larch) are famous because they get up to 3500 years old and develop extraordinary durable and hard wood (that makes them valuable for logging although they are protected).
After a relaxed night in my great new Chinese tent (what a bargain for this performance) I took the bus to Hornopiren. Tomorrow I will go to Caleta Gonzalo in Parque Pumalin. This is the easiest way. The other one, which I prepared most accurately is not possible to go.... preparation was nearly perfect, but only nearly - I overlooked the inscription 'en projectando' on the map, which means that the way was just a project, which had been abandoned now for many years.
Bye so far. I hope someone reads! ...this is premiere in the blog!!! Maybe that is the solution to the spams... | |
